The Presentation

A pilgrim's bottle is an object which travellers carried with them often holding water on their journey towards sacred places. They were also used as decorative pieces which could hold wine, but they were also using more expensive materials such as silver. My object was a pottery made bottle. Its origins lies in saint porchaire, France in the year 1525 to 1565. It has an anonymous artist. The symbols on the object seems to acknowledge its french origin with its fleur-de-lis like designs. The person on the front seems to indicate that the bottle was crafted for a more christian based religion.

The first steps I took were for my reproduction were sculpting the object in 3D. The original object was created with pottery and relief-application (adding layer of clay onto clay) and that got me interested in the idea of recreating the object in a digital way. My presentation is focused on showing this creating process and shows you the steps I took in a virtual space.

For the transformation I wanted to see how I could use the object I've made and turn it into something use-able for the public. I turned towards modding for games. I have spent time making my model ready for implementing it into a game (which in this case was TES V: Skyrim) and make it so that the player can use in there and download it. I made it replace all the common beverages in the game, so it becomes a thing the player can steal/find and actually use to drink from.
