What if the meme was used within a topical serious context ?

Refugee doge

With context as our overal theme we created a multi layered meme

which contains the opinions of certain groups within the western community.

Depending on the context we make our decisions wether we agree with

something or not.

The current situation in the middle-east is in a few ways similar to the second

world war. We take the refugees as a subject to use for our installation. By making

one image of the two events we create a different dimension in which the same

comments generate an ethical concern.

Digital

Digital behaviour can be seen all around us.

People are drawn into their phones, staring

at a screen, and missing what is happening

around them. Social media has brought us as

closer together as it had drawn us apart.

Virtual reality

We tend to think that virtual reality lives within the glasses of an oculus rift, the glasses that show a virtual enviroment which looks like your actually standing in it.

But we are not aware of the fact that we already spend a lot of time in virtual reality online. Like social media in which your profile represents a virtual version of yourself.

A virtual version that communicates with other virtual versions, a version of yourself that is spread a round the web wether it is your profile on facebook or your google searches that

companies use to influence you as a consumer.

The fact that we already spent so much time online made me think of a scenerio in which the oculus rift is highly advanced and virtual reality and actual reality become hard to distuingish.

If there could be world where you can design and adapt everything about you and your enviroment how much time would you spent there? Would you spent any more time in the actual reality?

How would your day look like? What would be
