Artefact
Updates on my chlorophyll printing:
11 April // The top left leaf has become darker, the bottom right seems slightly lighter and so does the one above it. The other two still haven't changed colour.
14 April // Top left has faded to a brown, the leaf on its right has also started to become brown in a single spot. The leaf under the stars looks quite pale. Bottom left seems unchanged.
16 April // Finally starting to see some progress! The round Tropaeolum leaf (1st image) has bleached very well and shows great contrast :)
The other are slowly getting there.. Hopefully in time for the presentation.
17 April // I picked a few more of the Tropaeolum leaves and made a few more designs. The weather for the coming days looks good. Fingers crossed.
Statement Research
The past weeks I've been doing some reading and research on the subject of vulnerability. My best finds:
- Rene Brown has two really great TED-talks on the subject. ('The Power of Vulnerability' and 'Listening to Shame')
- Mark Manson wrote a blogpost about it titled 'The Vulnerability Primer'.
I've also looked into the work of Sophie Calle. A conceptual artist who's work deals with grief, pain and heartbreak.
