For the love of God 2.0 (working title)
Discription
A meritocracy is a society where the social economic position is based on an individual's efforts. Meaning it’s not solely based on talents, but how you use it to your advantage and the amount of effort you put into it. In a society that is largely based on this illusion, social status is one of our biggest motivators. This gets expressed by showing off material possessions and access to situations that are only available to people in higher social classes.
Online media has become an essential part of our lives, and social status has also become a part of it. With social media like Instagram, people get more control in how they frame and curate their lives to the outside world. all this in an effort to gain a social following and boost their social status.
this project reverses the rolls, reveals a hidden truth and tries to create awareness. Because is this really the greatness that we want to achieve?
