Experiment: printing in nature
This week I went on an excursion to Gorssel (a rural part of The Netherlands) with my Illustration class for a so-called 'drawing bootcamp'.

While walking through the countryside and forest I decided to try 'printing' the texture of different kinds of tree bark. I did this by holding a sheet of paper to the bark and 'scratching' over it using a graphite chunky. This way I could map the different interesting textures and shapes of tree bark. I found that very rough textures are harder to 'print' than finer ones. Another interesting find was that the bark also gave off a green print on the backside of the paper.
