In this image you see different kind of operating systems for computers. These technologies are contemporary because they will always renew themselves to become more user friendly. Our options will in these operating systems will expand as well. Think about it, because back in the day we could use our mobile phones for only calling and texting, now they've almost as much possibilities as a computer. They're like tiny computers that we can put in our pockets.
This image portraits a loom that is invented in the industrial era. This made weaving much more easier and faster. For the fast production of clothing or other product this was very innovative and handy. It didn't only made it go faster but it was also to create products in a larger scale. So it was very effective for mass production.
This image portraits a woman who working with a spinning wheel. The spinning wheel was invented around the 12th century. The first spinning wheels were driven by hand, around 1500 the spinning wheels were created that were driven by foot. So it would go a lot faster. The painting itself is created by Essaias Boursse in 1667, the painting is 50 x 50cm big. The title of the painting is called 'Interior business with an old woman at a spinning wheel.'
I found this image rather remarkable because it is one of the first sewing machines. The brand of this item is Watson Patent Sewing Machine Gault, and is build around 1857. This was one the sewing machines that were still driven by hand, that's why it has this huge wheel on de rights side.
