==Het tekenen== De steen neemt bij bevochtiging alleen water aan op de niet betekende delen. Rolt men nu de steen in met (vette) drukinkt dan pakt deze alleen op het betekende oppervlak. Iedere andere aanraking met vet wordt dan ook zichtbaar en wordt ook afgedrukt (vingers!). Theroretisch kan men nu drukken; praktisch zal de steen echter spoedig ook inkt gaan aannemen op de niet betekende delen. Om dit tegen te gaan en een groot aantal drukken mogelijk te maken moet men de steen [[Vlakdruk:Prepareren|prepareren]] (etsen).
