Prepare the file
Illustrator file
- Create an Illustrator file with three layers. The top layer will contain the images for print, the second layer needs to contain the vector lines for the vinyl cutter. The bottom layer is for the crop marks.
- Add the crop marks, select the bottom layer and click the crop mark button in the Roland Cut Studio plugin (Window>>Extentions>>Roland Cut Studio). Three black dots will appear in your file. To adjust the position of the crop marks, click the roll menu in the right top corner of the plugin.
Print the sticker sheet
- Save your Illustrator file both as .ai and .pdf. Save the pdf file without the cutlines.
- Now print the PDF file at the Print Studio on matte or shiny canon sticker paper (A3 and A4 sizes are available). Print it on 100%, do not scale. Preferably print on the Canon C600i for a more saturated and higher quality result.
- Stickers can be also printed with the MFP printers by selecting the multipurpose tray and the "Labels" material. Make sure to feed the sticker paper upside down - with the red logos on top.
Prepare the machine
Piece Settings
- Turn on the Plotter and choose the "PIECE" setup to cut stickers. Then press enter.
Insert the media
- Feed your print to the vinyl cutter by putting the sticker sheet from the front. Feed it vertically and make sure it is placed underneath the white marks.
- Alway make a test in the corner before cutting by moving the knife and pressing TEST for 5 seconds. If the force is too strong, change it in the menu by clicking FORCE>UP/DOWN(to change the gf value)>ENTER>MENU. The suggested force for sticker cutting in 40 gf.
