Light Radiation

This is a two week project for the theme Light Radiation, it has been made in collaboration with Marjolein Stassen and Lars Noback.

We were inspired by the process of picture developement, since pictures are made by light and after a long period of time also broken down by light. We made made analog pictures with an old camera of our surroundings. We started lightening the pictures in the developement process with phone lights and lamps. We saw that the best results came between the developement and fixation process of the pictures. The problem we stumbled across was that this process needs to happen in complete darkness. Because we can not see anything we needed a medium that guides the light for us. I created a box that can hold different templates that guide the light in specific ways across the film.

With the box we made different experiments, from the time of exposure to several layers of film behind each other. Each developement process made a different impact on the outcome of the film.
